General Information
The Wellness Barn Edinburgh is a welcoming, collaborative wellbeing centre set in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Edinburgh,
We provide a range of health and wellbeing services including physiotherapy, massage therapies, acupuncture, personal training, yoga, Pilates and other holistic treatments.
Alongside client services, we also offer professional treatment rooms, studio space and gym facilities for qualified practitioners to hire, creating a collaborative environment where wellbeing professionals can work together under one roof.
The Wellness Barn is surrounded by beautiful landscape, it offers a calm and restorative space where visitors can relax, recharge and focus on their wellbeing.
We pride ourselves on creating a collaborative community of wellbeing professionals. While all practitioners operate independently, they work alongside one another to create a supportive and welcoming environment for both clients and fellow practitioners.
Our integrated approach allows clients to access a variety of complementary services in one place.
Location & Travel
The Wellness Barn is located at:

We are situated within the grounds of Swanston Farm and Swanston Golf Club
We have step-free access for clients with mobility needs.
By Car: We are located between the Dreghorn and Fairmilehead junctions on the Edinburgh City Bypass (A702).
Free parking is available on-site and the car park is shared with the golf club.
By Bus: Lothian Bus routes 4 and 18 stop on Swanston Road. From the bus stop it is approximately a 15 minute walk towards Swanston Golf Club and Swanston Farm where the Wellness Barn is located (within the golf club car park).

By Train: The nearest stations are Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket. From either station you can take a taxi or local bus to Swanston Road.
By Plane: We are approximately 9 miles (around 25 minutes by taxi) from Edinburgh Airport.

The Wellness Barn hosts a range of independent practitioners offering services such as:

Each practitioner operates independently and services are tailored to individual client needs.
We have step-free access for clients with mobility needs.
Booking & Appointments
Appointments can be booked directly with your chosen practitioner. Booking links are available on our website via the Practitioner Page, Class Timetable or Events Page.
If you are unsure which service would be most suitable or unable to find what you’re looking for, please contact us using the “Contact Us” form and we will help guide you to the appropriate practitioner and service
No, a GP referral is not required to book an appointment with most practitioners.
If you are unsure, your chosen practitioner will advise.
Can I use my private health insurance?
If you plan to claim through private health insurance, you may need a referral and authorisation number depending on your policy, so we recommend confirming this with your insurer before booking.
If you choose to book using your private health plan, your policy and authorisation numbers are required when booking an appointment. Some insurers reimburse costs upon receipt submission, so please confirm this with your provider prior to booking your appointment.
Visiting The Wellness Barn
Yes, free on-site parking is available for clients, practitioners and visitors.
Two spaces are located directly outside the building for those requiring closer access to the entrance.
A bicycle rack is also available to the right hand side of the building.
Yes. The Wellness Barn has step-free access and is designed to support clients with mobility and visual accessibility needs.
If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance so we can assist you.
If relevant, please bring:
- Any medical reports or referral letters
- A list of medications you are currently taking if applicable
We recommend wearing comfortable, layered clothing suitable for movement or treatment.
Practitioner Room Hire
Yes. We offer flexible room hire for treatments, classes, workshops and wellbeing events.
Spaces can be hired by the hour, half-day or full day, with prices starting from £17 per hour depending on the space and usage.
Our facilities are available to qualified wellbeing professionals, including:
- Therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Fitness instructors
- Yoga and Pilates teachers
- Coaches
- Holistic practitioners
- Workshop facilitators
The Wellness Barn is designed to support a collaborative community of practitioners working in health, fitness and wellbeing.

Cancellations & Policies
We require 48 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations or changes.
Cancellations made within 48 hours may incur a cancellation fee (typically £25 or the booking deposit). This applies to clients who have an appointment with Man Yuen Luk
Policies may vary slightly depending on the practitioner you are booked with. Please contact the practitioner directly to make any changes to your appointment or class.
Yes. A reschedule link is included in your booking confirmation email which allows you to adjust your appointment – this applied to Man Yuen Luk – Lead Physiotherapist
